Derry man banned from entering the John Street, Carlisle Road and Craigavon Bridge areas of the city as part of his bail conditions
18 Oct 2018
he District Judge at the Magistrate's Court in Derry today released on bail a prisoner from custody in Maghaberry Jail on condition that he stays away from the John Street, Carlisle Road and Craigavon Bridge areas of the city unless he's travelling in a vehicle. Barney McElholm imposed the condition on twenty-five years old Aaron Millar. The defendant, formerly from Dacre Terrace, is charged with entering as a trespasser McCorkhill House with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm and while in possession of a wooden plank. He's also charged with possessing a quantity of cannabis. The defendant is alleged to have committed the offences last January 31. Applying for the defendant to be released from prison custody, a defence solicitor said a bail address at Shearwater Way in the Waterside area of the city had been approved by the police. The case was adjourned until October 25 and the defendant was released on conditional bail of £500 until that date.
