73-year-old man to go on trial at Derry Crown Court charged with sexually assaulting a child

A 73-year-old man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of sexually assaulting a child. Patrick McKinney, of Sheskin Road in Greysteel, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today. He was charged with the sexual assault of a child under 13 on dates between June 30, 2015 and October 1, 2015. It was accepted there was a case to answer and McKinney said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. He was returned for trial to the Crown Court sitting on November 30 and released on bail.
