Man appears before court charged with carrying pistol and ammunition in a public place and assisting offenders

A man appeared before Limavady Magistrates Court earlier today charged with carrying a firearm and ammunition in a public place. Florin Lungo (33), of Linenhall Street, Limavady is charged with committing the offence on October 3. The court heard that the firearm in question was a pistol. Lungo is further charged on the same date with assisting offenders by disposing of the firearm. District Judge Liam McNally released the accused on his own bail of £500. Lungo is due back before the court on November 28.
