Brian Tierney

Pedestrian lights should installed on the Skeoge Road after the opening of a convenience store opposite a housing estate, says a Derry Councillor.

Speaking after engaging with local residents in Clon Elagh this week, SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney commented:  “Residents have told us about their safety concerns when crossing the main Skeoge link road to access facilities; in particular the new shop situated on the opposite end of the busy dual carriageway.

"Skeoge is an area with lots of young families and many of them make the very dangerous journey across a very fast moving carriageway to use the much needed shop on a daily basis.

"I have today raised the concerns of local residents with the Department for Infrastructure and will continue to do so until adequate safety measures are put in place."
