Call for owner of Derry derelict house to make intentions known following suspected arson attack

The owner of a derelict house in Derry is facing a call to make his intentions known about the property following a suspected arson attack. The call comes from Independent Councillor on Derry City and Strabane District Council Darren O'Reilly. Roads in the area were closed last night as firefighters tackled the blaze which broke out at the premises on the junction of Park Avenue and Northland Avenue at around 9.00pm. Cllr O'Reilly said: "The people who have ownership of this property need to come forward and engage with the local community and explain what they intend to do with the property. Residents in the area have had enough of this type of behaviour."
