Man in hospital after being knocked down on zebra crossing

A man knocked down at a zebra crossing on the Lecky Road in Derry is being treated in hospital. The incident took place around pm last night. The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) confirmed it received a 999 call at 10.03pm following reports that a male patient had been knocked down in the Lecky Road area. A spokesperson said: "NIAS despatched two Rapid Response Paramedics and an Emergency crew to the incident. "Following initial assessment and treatment at the scene, a male patient was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Area Hospital>"
