17 Jan 2019
Sinn Féin MP for Foyle, Elisha McCallion, has met with officials from the Department for Infrastructure and the civil service to discuss the progress in key strategic projects for the north west. Speaking after the meeting, she said:“I met with the permanent secretary of the Department for Infrastructure and the civil service officials dealing with city deals to discuss a range of key strategic projects in the North West. “Among the issues we discussed was the progress made for securing a city deal for the North West as part of the wider strategic growth plan, as well as key infrastructural projects such as the A5 and A2 upgrades. “We also discussed the expansion of Magee and the need for the British and Irish government to work in collaboration to deliver all of these projects." She concluded: “These are key strategic projects which will completely transform economic opportunities in the North West and I am committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure they are delivered for the benefit of everyone.” Photo shows Ms McCallion following the meeting.
