PSNI: Fifth arrest in connection to Derry car bomb attack

A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Saturday’s car bomb attack in Derry city centre. Police say the man is also being detained in connection with an armed robbery at Meadowbank Avenue in the city on Tuesday, January 15. It is the fifth arrest in connection with the attack, being blamed on the ‘New IRA’ since Sunday. Four males aged 42, 34, 21 & 21 who were arrested in connection to the explosion are also still being questioned by the police.
