BREAKING: Gardai confirm that remains of woman found on Donegal beach is that of missing Derry pensioner

Gardaí investigating the discovery of a human remains on a beach in Leenan, Clonmany have confirmed they are that of Jean McGahey. Ms McGahey was reported missing in Derry on November 18, 2018 and last seen in Buncrana on November, 19. Her remains were found on the beach by a member of the public on Wednesday morning and later removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post mortem was carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr. Margaret Bolster. Following the post-mortem profiling was carried out at the Forensic Science Laboratory and formal identification has now been confirmed. Foul play is not suspected in the case and a file will now be prepared for the Coroner.
