Derry man returned for trial to Crown Court on GBH charge

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm on another man. Emmet Kelly (29), of Foxhill in Derry, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. He was charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on the man on a date between 14-17 August 2016. It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. Kelly said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. Kelly was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court sitting on March 5 and released on bail.
