Derry man found with cocaine jailed at city's Magistrate's Court

A Derry man has been jailed at the local Magistrate's Court on a cocaine drug charge. Harry Boyle (29), of Galliagh Park, admitted criminal damage to a tag on 18 November possessing cocaine on 19 November last. The court heard police were called to an address and found Boyle under the influence of drugs and had a mobile phone in breach of bail conditions. The court was told Boyle was also found to have removed ans electronic tag which was found in the property. The court heard police found a quantity of drugs on the defendant when taken to hospital. Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley said Boyle had made good use of his time in custody and was trying to deal with his drug addictions. Boyle was sentenced to four months in jail.
