Sinn Féin MP for Foyle Elisha McCallion has led a cross-party delegation to meet with permanent secretaries to discuss progress on the campaign to secure a medical school at Magee in Derry. Speaking after the meeting Ms McCallion said she convened the cross-party delegation which met with the permanent secretaries from the Department of Health and the Department for the Economy to discuss the progress in the campaign to bring a medical school to the Ulster University at Magee. She added: "It was a useful discussion and once again showed the united voice coming from the north west to secure this vital medical school for the city and region. "We agreed to continue to work together to progress the issue and will reconvene in the coming weeks to ensure the focus remains on securing a medical school in the north west."
