Tierney welcomes Buncrana Road upgrade public information day
26 Feb 2019
The Department of Infrastructure is to hold another public information day on the proposed A2 Buncrana Road dualling scheme. The news has been welcomed by SDLP Councillor Brian Tierney. Cllr Tierney (pictured) said: “At a public meeting convened by the SDLP on 8th May 2018, residents were able to air their concerns to engineers with regards to the proposed dualling of Buncrana Road and some of its impacts on the local community. “Officials from the Department and ARUP Consultants listened to concerns and undertook to return with revised drawings aimed at addressing some of the issues raised. “We have continued to lobby with the Department for Infrastructure and are pleased that a date for another Public Information Day has been set for Tuesday 26th March, Da Vinci’s Hotel. “We are hopeful that residents’ concerns and suggestions will be reflected in the new plans. Everyone knows the importance of any development at the A2 Buncrana Road but any plans must meet the residents’ concerns”. “The SDLP look forward to this event which we hope will be well attended by residents along Buncrana Road where the Department will hopefully have concerns from the previous public information day addressed”.
