Mobuoy illegal dump a 'ticking time bomb' -says Durkan

Mark H Durkan

SDLP Mark H Durkan MLA, has urged people to attend NIEA's public meeting on the environmental management of the Mobuoy illegal waste site.

Mr Durkan commented:

"I would urge everyone in this city and surrounding areas to attend next Wednesday's public meeting on Mobuoy illegal dump.

"It is a chance to have your concerns heard and to demand action on this vital issue. It is imperative that this environmental hazard is dealt with as a matter of urgency- in a manner which poses the least risk to the environment, our water supply and subsequently people's health.

"This site is a ticking time bomb and action needs to be taken before a huge environmental crime becomes an even bigger environmental crisis."

The public meeting will take place Wednesday, March 6 at 7.30pm in Drumahoe Primary School.
