Returned for trail on petrol bomb throwing charges

A Derry man has been returned for trial to the local Crown Court on a series of petrol bomb charges. Nathan Doherty (36), of Harding Street in Derry appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. He was charged with making, possessing and throwing petrol bombs on 16 August last year. It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. When asked did he wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage he replied no. Doherty was returned for trial to the local Crown Court on 2 April and released on bail.
