Duffy seeks urgent meeting with Firmus over Cornshell Fields disruption
4 Mar 2019
Sinn Féin Councillor Sandra Duffy is seeking an urgent meeting with Firmus Energy to have the ongoing disruption to the residents of Cornshell Fields caused by the installation of gas pipelines remedied. Councillor Duffy (pictured) said she has been "inundated" with calls from residents, taxi drivers and now Translink regarding the issue. SHe added: "We have had reports of water pipes and electricity lines being cut, traffic chaos with little or no traffic management plan in place. "Taxi drivers and Translink are threatening to pull their services from the estate, which would leave residents isolated. "These issues need to be addressed and Firmus has a duty of care to residents and must carry out the necessary work immediately." Cllr Duffy concluded: "They must take into consideration how this is affecting the daily lives of residents."
