Derry man returned for trial on cocaine supply charges

A 25-year-old Derry man has been returned for trial to the city's Crown Court on a series of drug charges. Vincent Gill, of Derry more in the Springtown Road area, appeared at a preliminary enquiry at the local Magistrate's Court today. He was charged with a total of 14 offences including five counts of offering to supply a class A drug, namely cocaine, on dates between 20 October 2017 and 25 March last year. He also faced four charges of offering to supply a class B drug, namely cannabis, on dates in March last year Gill was further charged with unlawfully supplying cocaine on 28 March last, possessing cocaine and cannabis on 27 March and being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis on dates between 30 September 2017 and 28 March 2018. It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions. Gill said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. He was returned for trial to the Crown Court sitting on April 9 and released on bail.
