Independent Nationalist candidate for the Moor ward, Emmet Doyle has said following engagement with residents in the Bishop Street area in the last number of weeks, Council should commit to a parking strategy for the area.
He said: "Many of the streets in the area such as Ferguson Lane and Miller Street were built to cater for horses and carts, not families who have two or more cars. I have been inundated with concerns about residents being unable to park anywhere near their homes, and the conduct of other drivers in the area.
“Work to put in place a strategy that manages through traffic and gives residents the peace of mind many are lacking must now begin in earnest. I have been in contact with the Department of Infrastructure and hope to have staff on site soon to discuss any concerns."CAPTION: Independent Nationalist candidate Emmet Doyle.
