Six people were arrested after a car crashed into a wall near a Derry primary school this morning. The incident occurred shortly before 10.00am close to Culmore Primary School at Culmore. PSNI Inspector Mullan said: “Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the Culmore Road, Derry at approximately 9.50am this morning . “It was reported that a car had collided with a wall in the area. “Six people have been arrested and remain in custody at this time, enquiries are continuing and police would appeal for witnesses to contact the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference 385 28/03/19.” DLP Councillor Angela Dobbins said it was "very fortunate" the incident was not "fatal." She added: “Only an hour beforehand, the area would have been busy with children heading to school. “This reckless behaviour is absolutely disgraceful and those involved should be ashamed of themselves. “I am pleased that those who fled the scene have now been apprehended by the PSNI and they must face the full force of the law." Cllr Dobbins concluded: “If anyone has any information relating to this incident, I would ask they contact the PSNI.”
