League champions Slaughtneil hit three injury time points to snatch victory (1-12 to 1-10) from Bellaghy at a blustery Emmet Park on Saturday afternoon. The Tones played with a stiff breeze but failed to make it count and it was Slaughtneil who went into a two point lead. Ruairi McElwee and Frankie Donnelly (free) levelled matters before McElwee's penalty put Bellaghy 1-2 to 0-2 ahead at half-time. With McShane to the fore, Bellaghy’s running game saw them into a 1-7 to 1-5 lead by the 44
th minute, their seventh point a fine left-footed effort from Brown. Christopher Bradley’s ‘45’ levelled the game, before a monster 53rd minute point from Sé McGuigan edged the Emmet’s ahead. Conleth McShane, Declan Cassidy and Eoghan Brown helped Bellaghy into a 1-10 to 1-9 lead in the 60th minute. Ronan Bradley won a vital breaking ball from the kick-out, Chrissy McKaigue went on the run and Christopher Bradley fired over a sweet equaliser, before adding the lead score. Shane McGuigan landed the insurance point from a free.
