Man killed in Glenshane Pass road crash from Derry

The 46-year-old man who died as a result of a two-vehicle crash on main Derry to Belfast road was Patrick Healy, from Derry. The collision took place close to the Ponderosa Bar on Glenshane Pass at around 11.45pm. The Glenshane Road between the Garvagh Road in Dungiven and Tobermore Road in Maghera was closed overnight whilst the PSNI examined the scene. It reopened shortly before 10.00am this morning. Two women were taken to hospital for injuries which have been described as "serious." Police have appealed for anyone who was travelling on the Glenshane Road last night and who witnessed the collision or anyone who has any mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident to contact local officers in Limavady or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference 1654 23/04/19.
