A security alert close to a Derry polling station last night has been declared hoax. The area around St Paul's Primary School on Moss Road in the Galliagh area was closed off following the discovery of a suspect device at around 7.00pm. Polling was able to continue with voters using a rear entrance to the school. Those responsible have been condemned by Sinn Féin MP Elisha McCallion who said the alert wouldnot be allowed to derail the democratic process. The Foyle MP said: "The security alert near the polling station at St Paul's Primary School in Derry is clearly an attempt to disrupt and derail the democratic process. "Those responsible for this security alert will not be allowed to undermine to derail democracy."
