Police search of Junior McDaid House linked to Lyra McKee murder investigation

A search of the Derry headquarters of the republican group Saoradh was part of the ongoing murder inquiry into the death of Lyra McKee in Derry last month. The 29-years-old journalist (pictured) was shot dead by a New IRA gunman in the Fanad Drive area of Creggan on 18 April. Police said detectives from the major investigation team investigating the killing carried out a number of searches in Chamberlain Street this morning. A number of items were seized during the search for further investigation. No arrests were made. Police said their enquiries were continuing.
