Judge grants anonymity to Derry man charged with drug supply offences

A Derry man has been granted anonymity at the city's Magistrate's Court on a series of drug charges. He was charged with being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis on dates between 1 January 2016 and 11 May last. He was also charged with possessing cocaine on May 11 this year. The man also faced charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis on dates between 1 March 2017 and May 11 2019. Granting an application District Judge Barney McElholm for anonymity District Judge Barney McElholm said "the threat is still there" so the man could not be identified. The man was remanded in custody to appear again on 6 June next.
