Lyra's Walk: Police advise motorists to take additional care this weekend

The PSNI have advised motorists to take additional care on the roads this Bank Holiday weekend as a walk in memory of journalist Lyra McKee takes place between Belfast and Derry. Lyra's Walk will leave Writer's Square in Belfast at 9am tomorrow morning (Saturday, May 25) and conclude at Guildhall Square in Derry on Monday, May 27 at around 4pm. Several hundred people are expected take part in the walk the first leg of which is due to reach Randalstown tomorrow. On Sunday, the march will make its way towards Dungiven via the main carriageway of the A6 and on Monday the final leg of the walk will move through Dungiven to Derry.

Police have said they will be in attendance to ensure the safety of the walkers and minimise disruption and motorists are advised to consider this information when planning their journey and all road users should take extra care.
