Foyle Search and Rescue recover body from river

Foyle Search and Rescue have reported the recovery of a body from the Foyle. The organisation has said that after receiving a call from the PSNI on Sunday, June 16 at 6.40am they responded to a report that a person had been seen in the water. As a result they activated their Emergency Response Pager System and mobile and boat crews began a search at the area reported to them. A spokesperson for Foyle Search and Rescue said: “The Emergency Response Team had the sad task of recovering the body of a male from the river. All volunteers and staff at Foyle Search and Rescue offer our sincere sympathies and condolences to the family concerned at this time.”
