Man arrested in relation to attempted murder of PSNI officers

The PSNI in Derry have arrested a man in connection with the attempted murder of police officers in the city over a year ago. Detectives from the Terrorism Investigation Unit arrested the 42-year-old man earlier today under the Terrorism Act in relation to an incident at the city's walls on July 11, 2018 and also in relation to the seizure of fireworks in Chamberlain Street in the city in October last year.

The suspect has been taken to Musgrave Street Serious Crime Suite in Belfast where he is currently being questioned by detectives.
