Derry man released on bail following breach of conditions

Kieran Kelly (27) of Beraghvale in Derry was on bail following two charges of assault and a part of his conditions was that he abstain from alcohol.

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court following a breach of his bail conditions.

Kieran Kelly (27) of Beraghvale in Derry was on bail following two charges of assault and a part of his conditions was that he abstain from alcohol.

Kelly was arrested after giving a breath reading of 44mgs and police were opposed to the bail application.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said that Kelly is 'a man with a drink problem' and said that there had been no new offending since his last release.

Bail was granted and he will appear again on April 29.
