Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit conducted searches in the Currynierin and Creggan areas of Derry today.
Police said the searches were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican criminality.
A number of items were seized for further examination, including two suspected firearms - enquiries are on going.
Derry City and Strabane Chief Inspector Craig said: "Firearms are extremely dangerous and present a serious risk. Removing them from communities will remain a priority.
"I want to thank the local community for their patience while officers conducted these searches."
