Derry's Altnagelvin Hospital multi-storey car park to close temporarily for essential works

The Western Trust advises patients and visitors in Derry to use alternative onsite spaces as the main multi-storey entrance shuts for maintenance

Derry's Altnagelvin Hospital multi-storey car park to close temporarily for essential works

The Altnagelvin multi-storey is set to close its entrance at weekends for essential works.

The Western Health and Social Care Trust is advising patients, visitors, and staff of temporary weekend closures at Altnagelvin Hospital’s multi-storey car park, located near the North Wing, beginning today, Friday, February 13.

The facility will be closed for five consecutive weekends to facilitate essential structural upgrades and lighting works. These works have been strategically scheduled for weekend periods to minimise disruption during times of lower traffic volume on the hospital site.

The entrance to the car park will close at 4.00pm every Friday and the facility will reopen each Sunday evening.

The exit will remain open throughout the weekend to allow those already parked before the Friday 4.00pm deadline to leave the site at their convenience.

During these five weekends, drivers are requested to utilise alternative car parking spaces across the Altnagelvin Area Hospital site.

"The essential works have been planned for weekend periods when the car parks are quieter and the volume of traffic onsite is significantly less and to minimise any impact to patients, visitors and staff,” a spokesperson for the Western Trust stated.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your continued cooperation”
