Bail granted to Derry man facing non-fatal strangulation and domestic abuse charges

A man has appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court charged with assault and non-fatal strangulation.

Samuel Carlisle (39) of Clon Dara in Derry was charged with, on February 8, assault, non-fatal strangulation and assault aggravated by domestic abuse.

Police said they could connect the accused to the charges but bail was not objected to.

He was released on conditions including having an address approved by police, no contact with the alleged injured parties, he does not enter Clon Dara and he does not possess or consume alcohol.

He will appear again on February 23.
