Four arrested following 'cannabis factory' discovery in Derry

District Support Team officers assisted by Neighbourhood Policing Team Colleagues in Derry/Londonderry have arrested four people following the discovery of a cannabis factory during a planned search of a property in the Waterside area of the city, earlier today (Thursday, January 8).

Three males aged 37, 39 and 60 and a woman aged 52 have been arrested on suspicion of drug related offences and are currently in custody.

Inspector Simon Gurney said: “Cannabis factories such as this one often have links to serious criminality. By dismantling this extensive factory, we have helped to stop unlawful activity in its tracks.

"We will continue to work tirelessly to search for and seize drugs, investigate and arrest those involved in drug supply and remove drugs from our streets.

"Support from the public is crucial and, with your help, we can focus our efforts on identifying those who make their living and cause so much misery and harm by bringing drugs to our streets and neighbourhoods. Together we can help protect those you care about."
