Derry's Bloody Sunday Trust is to join a 24 hour fast with Prisoners for Palestine

The fast will take place on Monday, January 5. 2026.

Maeve Mc Laughlin, director, Bloody Sunday Trust said: "This series of daily fasts aims to highlight the plight of eight young people on hunger strike in England at this time.

"This protest is now at a serious point and there is an imminent danger to life," she added.

There must be intervention to resolve this crisis with the legal and human rights of the prisoners, which are currently being denied, fully respected.

"Irish people know only too well the impact of a hunger strike, so it is vital that we show full support for those currently engaging in this one.

"We at Bloody Sunday Trust want to stand with these prisoners and human rights activists nationally and internationally.

“The situation is dire, and we all have our part to play”
