Police in Derry investigating a report of an assault on a male youth in the Ebrington area of the city yesterday evening, Tuesday, December 2 are making a specific witness appeal.

The assault was reported to police at approximately 6.30pm and the victim subsequently attended hospital.

A male youth was arrested as part of enquiries and has since been released on bail to allow for further police enquiries to be conducted. 

Police are appealing for information in relation to the incident, which is being investigated as a sectarian hate crime, and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw what occurred, or captured any relevant footage, to contact them at Strand Road on 101, quoting reference 1182 of 02/12/25.
