The Deputy Mayor, Alderman Niree McMorris, attended the Awareness Walk to End Violence Against Women & Girls along Derry’s Quay on Sunday, reaffirming the Council’s strong commitment to ensuring safer homes, workplaces, and public spaces for all women and girls.

By standing in solidarity with residents, survivors, and campaigners, the Deputy Mayor helped amplify the event’s central message: that the entire community is united in demanding dignity, respect, and safety for every woman and girl, and in working together toward a future free from violence.
