It was ‘All Doors Open’ at Oakgrove Integrated Primary and Nursery School on Thursday last as the Annual Open Day was celebrated with a record attendance of parents/grandparents and prospective pupils enjoying the principal’s address, hot tea/coffee and refreshments before being given a comprehensive tour of the school.

Delighted with the turnout, the Oakgrove Principal, Mrs. Ashley Donaghey, praised everyone who helped out in so many ways to make the Open Day a success.

‘We welcome all at Oakgrove’ she said, quoting the school motto ‘Celebrating Diversity – Learning Together For Life’.’

‘We are a child-centred school in the heart of the local community and have an inclusive ethos of bringing children from different backgrounds together to learn and grow.’

‘Once again, typical of the family ethos here at Oakgrove, we had help from all quarters today. Staff, pupils, volunteers, even former pupils and retired staff turned up to help out in any way they could and show Oakgrove Integrated Primary and Nursery in a positive light that is warm and welcoming to all prospective pupils.’

Turnout for Thursday’s event was touching 180 over the two hours and feedback was extremely positive from the many visitors in attendance.

Mrs. Donaghey added that anyone who wasn’t able to make Thursday’s event could contact the school and arrange a meeting to see what the school offers and get to know the warm and caring environment that exists at Oakgrove.
