Police investigating a report of a hit-and-run collision in Coleraine on Sunday, November 16, have made an arrest.
A man in his 50s, riding a motorcycle, in the Willowfield Park area when he was struck by a grey Audi car. He was taken to hospital for treatment to leg and arm injuries.
When the collision occurred, a woman signalled for the driver to stop and put her hands on the bonnet. She was ‘clipped’ on the leg by the vehicle, no serious injury caused.
The driver of the vehicle left the scene and a car matching the description of the one involved in the incident was located a short time later by officers. A man in his 20s was arrested and has been released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be completed.
A link is being considered between the collision and an earlier verbal altercation in the Atlantic Road area of Coleraine near Burn Road.
Anyone who witnessed what happened or who was driving in the Atlantic Road area between 4.15am and 4.30pm and has dash-cam footage is asked to contact with police on 101, quoting reference number 1011 16/11/25.
