St. Columb's College Principal, Mrs Caroline McLaughlin, presents Ben Crawley with the Paula McGurk Bursary Fund. Included are Mr. McGonigle, Head of Senior School and Mr Chambers, Year 14 Year Head.
Mrs Caroline McLaughlin, Principal, St. Columb's College presented Year 14 student Ben Crawley with the inaugural award from the Paula McGurk Bursary Fund at the school this week.
This annual Bursary has been generously donated by the McGurk family in memory of their late mother, ‘to promote both academic and career-enhancing opportunities for any St. Columb’s Sixth-form pupil who would benefit from them’.
Ben has received a considerable sum from the overall bursary but there still is a sizable reserve and the final Prize towards University fees for the most deserving pupil which will be awarded in September.
Ben intends to use the award to part-fund flying lessons to complement his application for an aviation scholarship and secure his ambition of becoming an airline pilot.
