Derry man returned for trial to face perverting the course of justice charge

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on charges of perverting the course of justice following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court.

Luke McCrudden (39) of Woodside Heights in Derry was charged with the offence that was said to have occurred between May 26 and 30 this year when he was said to have attempted to contact the sister of a victim in an ongoing case.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

McCrudden chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on November 17.
