This evening's SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game between Derry City and Sligo Rovers has been postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
With an Amber Warning for high winds in place in Derry due to Storm Amy, and an Orange weather warning in place in Sligo, a decision has been made to postpone tonight’s fixture.
Club and Council officials in Derry made the call on Friday morning, mindful of the hazardous travelling conditions for supporters.
A spokesperson said: "Due to adverse weather conditions and an Amber Warning for high winds expected today, a decision has been made to postpone tonight’s SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division fixture at The Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium between Derry City and Sligo Rovers."
The game will now be played this Sunday afternoon (October 5), at the Brandywell with a 4.00pm kick-off.
All tickets for the original fixture will remain valid for the new date.
