Staff and pupils of Naiscoil and Gaelscoil Eadain Mhoir are taking part in a special fundraiser to help raise vital funds for programmes which enhance the pupils learning.
Participating in Taisteal trasna na tíre / Travel across the country, pupils will travel 302 miles, the actual length of Ireland, in order to raise much needed funds.
Ahead of the fundraiser, School principal Mary Nic Ailín said: “We are currently organising a special fundraiser to boost school funds in order to cover rising costs of programmes which enhance our pupils learning eg Accelerated Reading, Mathletics, Mathseeds, Nessy, well-being initiatives, outdoor provision, trips linked to themes to name a few.
“We always strive to provide high quality education at the heart of the community and our links with local groups are paramount in our success and development.
“This month in school we will be hosting a special sponsored event - Taisteal trasna na tíre / Travel across the country! Our pupils will travel 302 miles which is the actual length of Ireland in order to raise much needed funds.

“Pupils will travel around school grounds on their bikes, scooters, and feet! They will clock up the miles over the week beginning September 15.
“We are asking local businesses to sponsor the event in whatever way possible. All funds raised will be spent directly on our children and for their benefit.
