Man returned to Derry Crown Court on a number of domestic charges

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a number of domestic charges following a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court.

Kial McGilloway (36) of Ballinska Heights in Derry was charged with, on October 15 2024, non fatal strangulation, domestic abuse, common assault and improper use of public communications.

He was also charged with, on October 12 2024, two counts of common assault.

It was accepted that there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

McGilloway chose not to submit any statements and not to call any witnesses.

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on October 1 and released on bail.
