The 'Out and About' project held an overnight residential trip last weekend at the White Horse Hotel, Campsie to plan group trips around Northern Ireland enabling them to learn about local culture and heritage.
Several local community groups were in attendance including Kabalikat (North West), the Indian Hindu Association, Polish Abroad, Foyle Obon and North West Islamic Association.
Speaking after the event, Project Co-Ordinator Niamh Webster said it was a successful residential with a number of fantastic ideas put forward.
"This was a success in terms of what the groups got from the planning, research and logistics. We all look forward to putting the wheels in motion and getting the trips started in the coming weeks. A big thank you to all who attended and played their part."
‘Out and About’ is a project Celebrating Cultural Diversity and is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) funded through Derry City and Strabane District Council’s PEACEPLUS Local Co-Designed Action Plan.
