Motorists and pedestrians have been urged to show due care and attention as the return to school begins after the summer holidays.
Sinn Féin councillor Aisling Hutton said: "I would appeal to both motorists and pedestrians to show due care and attention as the big return school begins over the next few days after the summer holidays.
“Traffic congestion and parents parking their cars too close to school entrances can put young children at risk, especially during the school run times. It will take a few days for everyone to adapt to the roads being busy again particularly in the mornings at rush hour.
“Every driver can also make a difference just by slowing down a few miles per hour and observing speed limits outside our schools at all times."
