Officers from the Derry District Support Team arrested a man in his 30s, following the theft of a vehicle on Wednesday, August 13 sometime between 3pm and 8pm.
It was reported to police a black BMW car was stolen from a property at the Earhart Park area of the city.
The vehicle was spotted by police at the Holyhall Road area at around 12.40am on Saturday, August 16. Officers brought the vehicle to a stop and the driver was arrested.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a Class A controlled drug.
He remains in police custody at this time.
