St. Patrick’s College Dungiven students shine with outstanding A-Level results

There were smiles all round as students at St. Patrick’s College, Dungiven collected their A Level results, joined by staff to share the moment and congratulate them on their hard work. This year’s A2 results were strong across the board - 54% of all grades were A*- A, 76% were A*–B and 95% were A*–C.

The highest achieving A2 student in 2025 was Lisa-Marie Cassidy 2A* A and with notable performances from Shannon Gallagher 2A* 2C, with Sinead Lavery, Tronhan Lynch, Bobbie McGrellis, and Colleen Mullan who all obtained 2A* B.

Acting Principal, Mr. McMullan said, “The results our students have achieved this year are a real credit to their commitment and the support of our dedicated staff. These grades open doors to an exciting range of opportunities, and we’re delighted to see our students moving forward with such confidence”.

“Many of our students will now be taking up places on courses such as Radiotherapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Communication Advertising & Marketing, Teaching, Nursing, Midwifery, Computer Science and Games Design at universities including Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Ulster across its three campuses Derry, Coleraine and Jordanstown.

"Others are embarking on apprenticeships, moving straight into employment or continuing their studies at FE Colleges. It’s rewarding to see each of them pursuing the path that suits them best.”

“A special word of congratulations to our AS students who also received excellent results today, your hard work has paid off, which allows you to begin A2 studies with confidence in your ability and further potential. Our top performers for 2025 are Orla Kelly and Molly Higgins each achieving A,A,A with brilliant results also from Liam Bradley, Erin McCloskey, Dararose McElhinney, and Erin McGuinness who all obtained A, A, B.”

“With GCSE results due next week, we look forward to welcoming many of our Year 12 students into Sixth Form, as well as meeting new students from other schools who wish to begin Year 13 studies with us this September.”

“Sixth Form applicants from all schools are encouraged to arrange an interview with our Senior Management Team on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22 to secure a place for 2025–2026. Please contact our school office on 028 7774 1324 to book an appointment.”
