Noel Moore described Mr Cullen as: “A true Derry man”. He added: “Your legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew you, and the stories that will be told for years to come.”

Mr Cullen was a bricklayer, a trade also followed by his brother Dot Cullen and his nephew, Billy Cullen. His colleagues would have included, Lexie McGuinness, Johnny Morrow and Damian McDermott.

According to Declan Devine, Mr Cullen was “a superb bricklayer with a great head for working out plans”.

“He could do jobs without measuring. Rest in peace.”
