Suspended sentence for Donegal man at Derry Magistrate's Court

Derry Court

A 17-year-old youth who turns 18 tomorrow has been told that 'the rules change then' when he appeared at Derry Magistrate's Court for breaching his bail.

The youth was charged with breaching his bail by being in the company of the alleged injured party in his case on July 15.

He was also seen on CCTV being in Derry City Centre also in breach of his bail on July 16.

Defence solicitor Paddy MacDermott said his client turns 18 on July 19 and his bail address had been withdrawn.

He asked for bail to an address approved by the PSNI.

District Judge Ted Magill said that the rules as regards youths still applied but won't after he turns 18.
