Man accused of wounding with intent to cause GBH sent to Derry Crown Court

Suspended sentence for Donegal man at Derry Magistrate's Court

A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on a charge of wounding with intent to do grievious bodily harm. 

Josh Parker (32) with an address at Antrim Road in Belfast appeared at a Preliminary Enquiry at Derry Magistrate's Court today. 

He was charged with wounding a man with intent to do grievious bodily harm on December 27 2022.

He was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place namely a knife on the same date as well as having an offensive weapon in Clon Dara with intent to commit an indictable offence.

It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.

Parker said he did not want to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage. 

He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on August 19 and remanded in continuing custody.
