Derry Magistrates' Court
A man has been returned for trial to Derry Crown Court on two charges of non fatal strangulation.
Daniel Nelson (40) of Alandale Park in Eglinton appeared at a Preliminary Inquiry at Derry Magistrates' Court today.
He faced two charges of non fatal strangulation on the same female on December 23, 2023 and on January 21, 2024.
He was also charged with carrying out a course of behavior deemed to be domestic abuse on dates between February 27, 2022 and May 2, 2024.
It was accepted there was a case to answer and there were no contrary submissions.
Nelson said he did not wish to call any witnesses or make any statement at this stage.
He was returned for trial to Derry Crown Court sitting on July 2 and released on bail.
